how to: loose curls

I’m often asked where I get my curls done – most of the time, they are simply styled by yours truly. In the spirit of entering Australia’s Most Beautiful Hair this year, I’ll be posting a series on the blog and on Instagram of some amateur mini steps and preferred hair products I use – hope they come in handy!

Beep, beep. My GHD Pink Diamond styler is magically ready to straighten and curl in about 15 seconds.

Style tip: Spray Schwarzkopf's Ultimate Oil Elixir Serum before exposing hair to a straightening iron or curling wand. Alternatively, stock up on Schwarzkopf's 6 Miracle Oil Essence or the Daily Oil Elixir — they moisturise and work like a charm.

Brush it out, grab a section and twist. Then pull and follow through — voilà!

And a spritz of Schwarzkopf's Strong Styling Hairspray after, I separate and loosen the curls by brushing them out once more.

I've also been using the Essence ULTÎME Omega Repair shampoo and conditioner because my mane's extremely dry (previously bleached blonde twice) and I love my hair texture after wash!

Well now that our curls are camera-ready, let's snap a photo for the Australia’s Most Beautiful Hair competition!

Simply choose a category to enter — there will be special category prizes as well as the overall award for Australia’s Most Beautiful Hair. Curls are my favourite look so I'm entering the Curly category. The competition is all about styling your own signature look. Curls or not, get styling and enter Australia’s Most Beautiful Hair today.
